Introducing Marakana Stream (Beta)!
You may have noticed that we've changed things around on our website recently. As Marakana's library of content continues to grow, we've run into the fortunate challenge of organizing that content and making it as searchable as possible for our users. In the past, anytime we wanted to share any sort of module of knowledge — whether that be a piece of news, a TechTV video, or a simple tutorial — we would create a post in the most appropriate forum. One of the downsides to this method of content publishing is that unless you're subscribed to that specific forum's RSS feed, you might completely miss out on a lot of information relevant to your interests. Furthermore, once you did find something that interested you, there was no elegant way to browse related content.
So we present to you our initial release of Marakana Stream — a comprehensive, tag-driven library including all the educational content we produce and host here at Marakana. Looking for every video we've ever published? Simply click on the 'TechTV' tag. Want to narrow that search further by limiting down to video tutorials regarding Android development? Just add the 'Tutorial' and 'Android' tags. Now notice the sidebar…more content relevant to your search! Simple? Yes. But we think it's a drastic improvement.
It's important to note that this release is certainly Beta, and that we are excited to improve and streamline the user experience and interface. As such, we are eager to implement some or all of the following features:
- Subscriptions to tags
- Improved search functionality
- Content ratings
- User-created posts
- Support for social login
Furthermore, we're eager to hear from you. What can we do better? What do you love, what do you hate? Why? For those interested in giving us some feedback, consider completing the following survey to help us make Stream better, and for a chance to win some cool prizes.
All the best,
Marakana
